This project is the culmination of 2.5 years of renovation work to completely overhaul the interior of the 2nd floor apartment at 122 Second St in Athens NY. The original 900 square foot space was dark, broken up into 9 rooms, and cold due to lack of insulation in walls. Combining the broken spaces into a more open floor plan not only allowed more floor space to be utilized, but also allowed additional light to penetrate deeper into the apartment. Linoleum and drywall were ripped away to reveal original wood surfaces, which were revitalized to integrate into the apartment’s design.
